Support/Technical FAQs
I paid but I don’t have access, why can’t I see the articles?
Substack ties your subscription to the email address associated with your account. If you signed up for Citrini Research with a different email address than the one you use to log in to Substack, you will not see paid Citrini content. You will need to log in to Substack with the same email address you used to sign up.
How do I manage my subscription?
You can find detailed account management instructions here. In general, for administrative or customer support inquiries, please contact Substack support directly at https://substack.com/support. For more troubleshooting information, please visit A reader’s guide to Substack.
Is there a price difference between buying through the iPhone Substack app versus the website?
Yes. Subscriptions purchased through the iPhone Substack app (via Apple’s In-App Purchase system) are subject to a 30% markup fee imposed by Apple, which is passed on to the subscriber and results in a higher price.
To receive the lowest available subscription price, we strongly recommend that all users—both U.S. and international—subscribe directly through our website, citriniresearch.com, or the main Substack website, rather than through the mobile app. You do not need to be on a laptop or desktop in order to do this. Signing up through a mobile phone internet browser (e.g., via Safari or Chrome) will also avoid the Apple markup.
Why is my charge higher than the listed subscription price?
If your billing address is in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Texas, Colorado, Tennessee, Maryland, or Puerto Rico, the difference is likely state or territory sales tax applied at checkout. You can view an itemized receipt by following the instructions on Substack Support.
Can you send me a receipt for accounting and reimbursement purposes?
You can find your receipt in your email or by following the instructions on Substack Support.
As a reminder, all professional and institutional users must be on our institutional tier where you will be better served and brought into alignment with our Terms of Service.
My credit card lapsed, can I get my old price back?
It is the subscriber’s responsibility to keep their payment method current. There is no guarantee that we can reset the subscription price to the grandfathered rate.
Is Citrindex.com a separate subscription? / I paid for the Substack subscription but the links to Citrindex.com are asking me to login/signup.
Yes, Citrindex.com is a separate subscription from Substack. As a Substack subscriber, you already have access to all thematic baskets within the publication text and infographics. Also, for Substack subscribers, Citrindex holdings are updated weekly and can be found in “the Citrindex” tab on Substack (where you’ll find a link to a Docsend spreadsheet).
If you would like more information on baskets and the Citrindex, including daily updates, basket charts, and analytics, you can subscribe to the Citrindex by upgrading to the Citrini Bundle within Substack or by subscribing directly at Citrindex.com. Substack and Citrindex.com are exclusively for retail / non-institutional users. Professional / institutional users should contact us at citrini.com or by email to sales@citrini.com.
I’m an institutional investor, can I subscribe to the research via Substack?
No. Citrini Research maintains a strict commercial policy that separates retail from institutional subscribers in accordance with standard industry practice. Institutional and professional investors should contact sales@citrini.com for more information about our institutional platform.
How should I engage in the Citrini Research Substack chat?
The chat is organized in posts and reply threads. Replies to posts must be related to the topic of the post. Additional insights, thoughtful disagreement, alternative viewpoints, and discussion are always welcome and valued. Trolling, spam, IP violations, and off-topic comments are not tolerated. In general, users engaging in activity that is counterproductive and disruptive to the readership will be banned. We aim to enforce chat moderation for the benefit of the overall subscriber base. General user feedback can be submitted to citrini@substack.com.
